Life On the Road

Van Build 1.0

In May 2019, we bought a Mercedes Sprinter panel van. Over the next 6 months we converted her into our tiny home on wheels, complete with a full size bed, kitchen and seating area. We blogged and filmed our entire build series, both as a way to document our journey and to provide useful tips and inspiration for those looking to start their own van build. We hope you enjoy exploring the evolution of Sophia.

Van Build Series: Week 16 - Fitting the Electrics & Kitchen

We’ve just come back from a short break in Iceland, celebrating my (Chesca’s) 30th birthday. But we’re hitting the ground running now, with a big week of electrics and kitchen installs. It was time to get stuck into wires, wood and paint! Ben finished off our electrics board and we finally secured the kitchen unit into place. We had fun painting in the late summer sunshine, and Sophia is really starting to look more like a home as each day passes. The electrics is a complicated part of any build, but again, Ben has gone above and beyond wiring our entire electrical system himself. He isn’t an electrician, but he seems to have a knack for this kind of thing and is doing us proud every day. Thank you my love!
